Edwin Lutyens (1869–1944) was an architect, artist, and writer. He is best known for his work in architecture, especially the design of the war memorials at the Cenotaph in London and elsewhere in England. During World War II he was recruited by the War Office to design posters for the Ministry of Information. His wartime posters were an enormous success, and he went on to create a further five series of poster campaigns while employed by the government
He also designed the New Delhi Railway Station, which is now known as the "Lutyens' Arch".
